THE OWNERS

Pure Energy Group is owned by Matthew Henderson, Travis Sheffield, and Jordan Sinn — all born and raised right here in Salem, Oregon.

We built this company with one goal: to keep solar local. After years in the energy industry, we saw how larger, high-overhead companies often overlooked Oregon homeowners. We wanted something different — a company rooted in family, trust, and real connection with our community.

Unlike satellite solar companies that come and go, we’re here to stay. This is our home too, and we take pride in treating every customer like a neighbor. Whether you’re a homeowner or a business owner, we’ll always encourage you to compare bids, ask questions, and choose a contractor you can trust.

I was born in Albany, Oregon. In my early years I moved around the Northwest with my family due to my father’s career until we settled again in the Willamette Valley when I was 13 years old.

I attended Harrisburg High school and Linn Benton Community College.  My intentions were to continue on in higher education but I did not have a focus or trade in mind. I worked as an electrical material handler but knew that I wouldn’t make a good electrician.  I seemed to relate well with people and knew how to build trust with them, but didn’t know how this would translate to a career.

 I started doing retail sales and quickly realized I loved the interaction with people and the ability to provide them a solution to their wants or needs. I made a decision in 1998 to makes sales my career. That led me to a few jobs that helped prepare me for solar.

 My first day in Solar was May 18th, 2009 and I have absolutely loved this industry since that time. In total I have either sold or been involved in almost 1500 solar projects. My passions and hobbies include learning how to effectively lead, Outdoor activities, Traveling, and playing corn hole.   I have two grown sons and an amazing wife Shelley of 25 years. We live South of Salem with our Yorkie Reggie." 

Matthew Henderson

Travis was born and raised in Jefferson, Oregon and continues to make this area his home. He loves everything outdoors from camping, boating, fishing and Elk hunting. He has a passion for basketball and has been volunteering his time to coach both high school and middle school girls basketball. He also loves building things including his current house, office building, shop and Matthew’s shop. He has been married to his wife Terri for 25 years and they have four wonderful children and a dog named Dusty. 

Travis Sheffield
