Why Local Matters: The Impact of Local Support in the Willamette Valley
Choosing a solar company is a big decision. With so many options in the solar industry, homeowners want to work with a team they can trust—one that understands their home, their needs, and their community.
At Pure Energy Group, we appreciate healthy competition. But there’s one thing you simply can’t compete with: being local.
Being local isn’t a tagline. It’s the foundation of who we are. Our owners, employees, and business are all based right here in the heart of the Willamette Valley. With our owners born and raised in Oregon, we understand the people we serve and the partners we work alongside.
Supporting small businesses, nonprofits, and local programs is core to our mission. One partnership we’re especially proud of is with the Willamette Valley YMCA. They play a crucial role in strengthening families, supporting youth, and building opportunities across our community—values that deeply align with ours.
We recently interviewed Tiffany Fallows, Chief Development Officer at the Willamette Valley YMCA to talk about why local support matters and how community partnerships create real change.
How Pure Energy Group’s Support Helps the YMCA
Tiffany Fallows:
”Pure Energy has been such a game-changer for us! From the very first meeting, they came with a “how can we help?” mindset. When we shared a new opportunity to support our scholarship programs and resources for families, they didn’t hesitate—they jumped right in. Their ongoing support helps our programs grow, keeps our facilities accessible to all, and gives kids and families a safe place to play, learn, and thrive. Local businesses like Pure Energy are more than sponsors—they’re neighbors who show up, invest in people, and help our community thrive. They’re present in the very neighborhoods they serve, helping us expand our outreach while setting an example of giving back and making a real difference.”
A Specific Example of Impact
Fallows:
“Pure Energy became our first full gym sponsor, bringing a brand-new level of support to our campus. Their name now proudly graces our blue gym as well as our turf fields, and their partnership allows us to stay true to our mission of removing barriers—especially financial ones—so everyone can access the YMCA.”
The YMCA’s Work in the Community
For more than 40 years, the Willamette Valley YMCA has provided programs that support youth, families, and individuals throughout our region.
One of their most meaningful annual programs is Learn to Swim Week, held every June.
Fallows explains:
“We provide free swim lessons to more than 250 first-time swimmers, focusing on drowning prevention and giving kids the skills and confidence they need to stay safe around water. With so many water sources in our area, this program is truly lifesaving—and we’re committed to ensuring our community never experiences the tragedy of losing a child to drowning.”
Making Programs Accessible for Everyone
The YMCA ensures that cost is never a barrier. Through scholarships, financial assistance, and flexible membership options, the Y opens its doors to every individual and family who wants to participate.
Fallows: “We never want cost to be the reason someone can’t be part of the Y. “
Upcoming Projects
The YMCA is especially excited about its upcoming affordable Veterans Housing project in Albany, which will offer 38 affordable units for local veterans. Future expansion plans for their main campus are also in the works, aimed at bringing even more resources to the Willamette Valley.
How You Can Get Involved
Whether you want to support the YMCA or simply give back to the community in a meaningful way, there are plenty of ways to jump in:
Volunteer at programs or events
Sponsor youth sports
Donate to support scholarships
Partner as a local business
Help spread awareness about community resources
As Fallows says,
”Whether it’s sponsoring programs, volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word about what we do, every bit of support helps us reach more people and continue building a stronger, healthier community.”
Building a Stronger Community, Together
With the support of local businesses, the YMCA has grown tremendously — and they’re not slowing down.
Fallows adds:
”We’re excited to keep expanding programs that fill real gaps in our community, grow our campus so we can serve more members and guests, and create inclusive spaces where everyone truly feels welcome. We have some exciting growth ahead, all focused on uplifting the families and neighbors who rely on us.”
For us at Pure Energy Group, educating our community about the power of local involvement is more than a campaign — it’s a responsibility. Supporting organizations like the YMCA reminds us why staying local matters.
“The Y is so much more than a gym and pool—it’s a place where kids grow, families connect, and neighbors show up for one another. Every day, in both big and small ways, the Y helps shape a community where everyone belongs.”
Start local. Grow local. Support local.
